This Hyatt Jeju Hotel Review is based on my first hand experience- I stayed there for 3-4 days when I was in Jeju. (The hotel was Paradise in the 1st season of Singles Inferno if you watch that reality show!)
We stayed in Grand Hyatt Jeju for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. (Actually we'd love to return to all the hotels we stayed at in Jeju, such as Shilla Jeju. Generally, the prices are slightly lower than Seoul and there seems to be better value for money.)
Recommended for travelers who want to be based in Jeju City BUT not if you want to be near the coast (in which case, I recommend Shilla Jeju.) Grand Hyatt Jeju is my personal top choice for when I am in Jeju-si.

How do I get to Grand Hyatt from Jeju Airport (and vice versa)?
Grand Hyatt Jeju hotel is centrally located in Jeju City, very close to Jeju International Airport, about a 10 minute drive. (However, I felt the price for the short taxi ride was ridiculously high. Luckily, there is a complimentary hotel shuttle going to Jeju Airport, generally between 6 am to 10.30 pm. subject to change. You can also take the airport bus.)
Whilst waiting to check in, the Front Office Manager on-duty came to welcome us and spent quite a while introducing the hotel and its facilities. (His English was excellent.) It was actually the most welcoming check-in experience we've had in Korea.
If you drive, Grand Hyatt hotel has complimentary parking (1 car per room.)
Grand Hyatt Jeju hotel was VERY mobility friendly: it promptly provided us with a wheel chair (we booked this when making our room reservation), which we could keep in our rooms during our entire stay.
What facilities does Grand Hyatt Jeju have?
The hotel is 38 stories high, with twin towers, a good choice of restaurants and bars, indoor pool, outdoor pool, gymnasium, 2 spas (we visited 1 several times, so scroll down for the review), retail shops, and a kids’ arcade. (It was the largest Grand Hyatt in Asia Pacific at the time of visiting/ writing this review.)
The outdoor pool is particularly impressive! (There are 2 pools at Grand Hyatt- an outdoor infinity pool and an indoor one.)

Rooms
The Grand Hyatt Jeju hotel isn't for you if you want somewhere small and cozy- there are over 1600 rooms here!
Our connecting rooms were VERY spacious and comfortable- it had Balmain toiletries (fancy brand but I'd prefer a brand that was actually known for its skincare, such as L'Occitane.) (The Grand Hyatt rooms range from 65 to 260 square meters- we took the most basic/ cheapest room and were very happy with it.)
The decor was too modern for my taste but I appreciated the view (pretty much 360, unblocked) and size.
Spa
The hotel has 2 spas:
- Korean Jjimjil Spa, a local Kotrsn spa experience complete with saunas and body scrubs
- Rosebay Spa, a more European type spa which uses luxury French brand, Biologique Recherche.
During our stay in Seoul and Jeju, we had facial treatments and massages at:
- Sulwhasoo Lotte Hotel
- Rosebay Spa at Grand Hyatt Jeju
- Shangpree Gangnam (would never return, has since closed)
Although I prefer to go to spas that use Korean products when in Korea, Rosebay Spa at Grand Hyatt Jeju was just as good as Sulwhasoo. The service was very professional- the manager was fluent in English and friendly. In addition, the treatments relaxing.
It has 8 treatment rooms and, when we stayed, we could get appointments within relatively short notice.
Hotel Restaurants
We ate in the hotel several times and the food was good. (The best food I have had in Korea was in Jeju, actually!)
There is a HUGE range of restaurants at Grand Hyatt- 14! We tried:
- Noknamu, the Korean BBQ restaurant, which I preferred to the ones I've tried in Gangnam (safer set-up of the charcoal and better side dishes)
- Skyview Pocha (great unblocked view of the surroundings. I could tell that the abalone rice was authentically done, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. The orange was the sweetest I had on my trip though!)
- Gallery Lounge: more like a cafe. not bad but not super memorable. Ordering was through an iPad.
Hotel Shops
It was raining heavily, with gale like winds, during part of our stay, so we were super happy that the hotel had a shopping arcade.
It's not huge but there were enough shops to occupy us when the weather was bad. I liked how the shops were mainly independent stores, instead of designer brands that you can find anywhere.
What's Nearby?
There is a large E-mart next door to Grand Hyatt- more than 1 storey- which was very convenient. (I love going to local supermarkets on my holidays!) If that's not enough for you, there's also Lotte Mart a few blocks down.
You will need to cross the road but it's only a few minutes walk.
You're also within walking distance of many restaurants, but not all open throughout the day.
However, note that it's not the closest to attractions such as Innisfree House and Udo Island.
