Yardbird Marina Bay Sands review

Wondering if the Yardbird at Marina Bay Sands is worth dining at and whether it lives up to its "best bruch in America" fame? Here's my review of the American restaurant in Singapore.

The Food

The Burger at Yardbird, Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Singapore. — A regular burger at Yardbird.

I've eaten at Yardbird 3-4 times.

I like the sound of the dishes- for example, they once had a Nasi Lemak burger special. Unfortunately, each time, the food was ... OK but not amazing. (We couldn't finish the food above. And the Nasi Lemak chicken burger was soggy- not worth the calories either.)

A friend told me the chicken waffles here were the best she'd had (and I have friends who lived in America for almost a decade- albeit in NYC not in the South- who also order the dish) so I tried the chicken, waffles and watermelon set. I enjoyed the watermelon salad but the fried chicken could have been crispier in my opinion. Is it sacrilegious to say I prefer KFC?

You can definitely get better food at other restaurants. I basically only return when I can't get seats elsewhere!

Solo traveler tip: I like how you can easily eat here as a single person. At other places, for example, Spago Bar and Lounge, the portion sizes are a bit awkward for solo travellers.

Service

Service is OK but not as good as at the other restaurants in MBS.

The service staff are nice but they're quite slow, even when the restaurant is relatively empty. (It takes a while to get seated, or to get anyone's attention if you want something.)

Need to Know

There is a 2-course/ $36 and 3 course/ $46 lunch set menu.
- This is one of the most value-for-money sets in MBS.
- If you have the MBS Lifestyle card, you can get the 3-couse menu for $36.
- However, it no longer includes the dishes Yardbird is famous for such as their Chicken & waffles.
Along with Dallas and Maison Boulud, it's also one of the few restaurants with a waterfront terrace + Al Fresco Seating at MBS. (For example, Sen of Japan is located on the same floor, with the same waterfront view, but has no outdoor seats.)

Verdict: the restaurant is good choice if you prefer casual dining (Maison Boulud, for example, feels a bit more dressy), want a view of the beautiful Marina Bay waterfront, and aren't picky about your food.
