A Dallas Marina Bay Sands Review of the drinks and ambience (I did not eat anything there and I've tried almost all the eating places at Marina Bay Sands so can offer a good comparison across outlets.)

Ambience

Dallas has 3 types of seats:
- (limited) indoor (picture on the left, above)
- outdoor
- in/out seating (picture on the right, above)
The best thing about Dallas is being able to sit outside is nice in the evenings (note it's very hot in the day.) I was there around 5 pm and my friend found it too hot to even sit in the in/out section (this is an indoor section which is not enclosed (so it's shaded but doesn't really have AC.)
There aren't that many alfresco places in MBS so Dallas has quite an advantage here. For example, Sen of Japan has waterfront views but no outside seats. Yardbird and Maison Boulud do have outdoor sections (but I've never really seen people sit in it!! Testament to the heat and humidity.)
As you can see, it's bar style seating at Dallas, which is not the most comfortable.
Food & Drinks

I found the drinks offering at Dallas expensive (even more so than is usual for Marina Bay Sands.)
To be fair, I'm not much of a cocktail person and the non-alcoholic section is quite limited. They do have mocktails but none that were tempting to me. I did end up getting one, as the price for bottled water felt ridiculous. ($14 for a bottle.)
I would have found the price OK if, when guests order cocktails/mocktails, they are allowed to pay for tap water (which is drinkable in Singapore. I was quite thirsty so 1 cocktail couldn't really quench my thirst.) However, that wasn't an option so you just have to order multiple cocktails or the expensive bottled water.
The food on the menu seemed to be reasonably priced (for MBS). (I didn't order any as I didn't find Dallas comfortable enough to want to hang out at for that long.)
All in all, I'd say Dallas is a good place to have cocktails, relax, enjoy the view and just soak up being at Marina Bay Sands at night. However, it's a bit too hot in the day and also not a place to go for more practical reasons (e.g. not a place to get a drink when you're just trying to quench your thirst.)
